opinions on what brands other than Stihl are top quality and maybe what ones to avoid / low quality
I purchased a 28" Stihl already and still need around a 32" so I might try a different brand to compare

Tsumura makes a good light bar, cannon does as well, only you can decide if the juice is worth the squeeze. They aren't cheap.

just looked up the cannon- they sure are proud of them things , can get two Stihls for the price of one cannon

Buddy of mine put a Sugi on a 500i, said it balances better.
Might make sense on a bigger saw that's ran a lot.
Yes Cannon is VERY expensive.

when i get the choke fixed on my 460 I am puttin the newly purchased 28" light Stihl on it
I will see how that goes and might just get another one for my 066

just looked up the cannon- they sure are proud of them things , can get two Stihls for the price of one cannon

It will last the life of the saw!

Stihl light bars are good, I use a few on the regular. I don't think I have to tell you this..but..they bend easier..be mindful.

Makes little to no difference until you get out to 28 inch plus and perhaps noticeable (depending on powerhead) once you get out to 36 inch plus.
Cannon, Sugi Hara and Tsumura as already noted above- tried one Oregon Prolite- wasnt impressed.

I like the Stihl bars, 32 feels nice in a light bar. I can agree that under 28" they don't feel much different at all

Stihl, Tsumura, and Sugi - I've ran all 3 and all 3 are good to go. I would get whatever one is available and priced the best.

I also only run light bars on 28"+ bars. My 500i with a 28" light is really nice.

I have run both Stihl and Sugihara, weighed them one day... the Stihl was a few grams lighter!!! 28 inch.
I will have to look it could have been the Tsumara that I compared it to. Both are very very nice bars.
I also like the smaller bars, I run a 20 inch on a 261 in .325 pitch. It really makes a nicely balanced setup!
Canon bar is out of my price range...
