What a great day for tree climbing.. sunny and 80*... shady under the trees...
I don't have many still shots because I was running the video camera all day. Got some great footage... i think its hard to remember what happenned when in or even watching the heat of competition/performance... The tapes are ther to reveiew and learn from.....
Jon's work climb was a flawless excercise in climbing mastery... I can't even put it into words just how sweet it is... 2:45 sec... just watching that on the tv brings me joy... To tell you the truth that kind of performance is what I AM used to seeing from Jon. He absolutuely smoked the crowd, including Roachy, whom won that event at the ITCC lasy year...
Jon hit the stick throw on the first try. I actually had a friend running the second camera which showed the stick hitting the bucket and other B roll shots... should make a good piece if we ever get to editing it.
The DQ on the Master's challeng3 was unfortunate... a mental error which is easy to make. KNowing the rules and scoring systems etc.. is huge.. This was my first (as a spectator) and Jon's third competition... I think he's just getting a feel for what he is capapble of... In reviewing the tpaes, it's clear to me that Jon and Roachy are in a class by themselves (world class) with Mike Teddi looking like he can produce on the job, but lacks the grace that comes with mastery, and everybody else back quite a distance.
Watching those tapes, one can only say that Roachy is a machine on the footlock... He took 16 bights, 49' in 19.12 seconds.... And he hesitated just as he reached the bell.. costing him a good half a second or more. I doubt I could run 49' of stairs in 19 seconds. Watching him rock the craddle is pure mastery, and a great joy to observe...
Rocky, email me your address and I'll send you a copy. That should be inspiring
