Today was a mixed bag at the same customers house. Mrs.Sawboss was running the camera, the rope and stacking brush and logs...what a woman. In 2.0 hours I removed a double lead cedar and deadwooded a maple. Also in that time my beautiful wife had the site cleaned. Here are some pics...hope you enjoy.

Sounds like you're comming along :)

Lemme ask you sunptin, wife on the job, I'd love to sometimes, if for nothing more than to get to see her once in a while, but I've had clients ask "you're wife won't be out here working, will she? no. good. I have used her a few times when I needed someone extra on traffic control, but no more than that. Have you ever had anyone say anything about her being there, or just say oh.., ?
I guess maybe it's just the location, or the people, some guys drive rusted out trucks to place bids, and get the work. I've never been able to do that, I've always had to drive something nice, but not over the top, like my '99 f-150. maybe it's just how they want to look in front of the neighbors.
Just wondering what folks said, or don't say.
Maybe others will speak up about their area.

that is cool as can be. my wife has been griping about needing to get to the gym and get in shape for the bikini season. i told her to come haul brush w/ me. she says she'd love to. i can't wait to get her out there w/me.

Tony, you're not a bad-looking guy, but in my opinion, the roles should be reversed regarding the camera responsibilities so we can all appreciate the real beauty of your husband/wife worksite.

My wife and I are as opposite as two people can be, she is not the outdoors type. She tried to help once take a tree down when we moved into our house just didn't have the strength to be moving limbs to the chipper. She does not get along with anything that has a pull rope, she and the lawn mower do not have a good relationship, she hates chain saws.

My wife does a very good job at running the office and talking with people on the phone, she has a good phone voice, more than one person has commented on this. She is also good artistically and has hand drawn many of our ads over the years, she gets mad at the printers when they don't reproduce exactly as she laid it out.

Another thing I have come to respect over the years is that being a non tree person, she reminds me that not every one knows as much about a tree as I do and that I should not talk over there heads. She has shown me ways to communicate with the average person to get a point across so to speak, but do it in such a way that I am not talking obver their heads and confusing them.

I personally do not see anything wrong with a spouse helping her husband, do a tree job. I also have some clients that would show disfavor if we operated this way, some don't like it, others would not care. I would rather see a husband, wife team doing the work, than just the husband, father with small children doing the work exposing minor children to risks that could get them hurt. Having kids help clean up is one thing, but having them under a tree with debris and limbs coming down is another, and working around machinery is another. I don't know where you draw the line on this one, but I wouldn't expose my kids to risks that could get them hurt.

:p Jason, what bikini season??? You live in OREGON!!!! And don't try to tell me its warm at the beach out there, it's not! I know I used to live there.LOL

tony, i think that is great your wife helps out. i did a job today that was just thinning out an apple and a plum tree and my future wife helped me out. she helps me on jobs that dont require much physical strength. it helps the both of us out cause we are keeping money i would otherwise be paying to someone else. she does alot of the calling and scheduling stuff too. i think our cutsomers like too, when she helps the customer usually says something like..........aw, that is so sweet, yall both working together like that. usually makes us a few extra dollars, people give us tips and say well since yall guys worked so hard we figured we'd give you a few extra dollars. without her i dont think i'd get as many jobs as i do. Tony,
How do you like that 338 husky. I hope you got a good one, my 335 ran great at first. It has grown very finnicky over the last year. I'm bout ready to ground it for an echo cs341.

???? Tony, talking about the beautiful wife, and you post pictures or your mug and azz in the tree... Whatcha ya thinking! I guess she's not blonde.. at least she would have held the camera backwards and we may have got a glimpse! :p

Really, that is pretty cool you can work together.. Me and the 'ol lady (hey, i must be married longer) get along pretty good outside.. She usta enjoy working out side with me, but her yuppie friends at work have been corrupting her as of late.. Well that, and maybe its because we have 3 young kids now.. So enjoy your time working together while you can!

i think in Tony's area, there would be no problems accepting a woman on the job, very liberal area of the country.. And if she looks as good as Tony says, maybe he's getting more business because of it!
Think of the bikini car wash and the long waiting lines.. Maybe someone needs a crew of bikini clad groundies with hard hats.. Now that would drum up some business!

Well lets see. Begley... Nobody has ever said boo to the fact that my wife was present on jobs. So far the customers allow me to do my thing uninterrupted so my wife being there is of only my concern. It's great to work with her. On a day where I would have been otherwise out of the house for a few hours, I could spend a little more time with her considering with this new job...it's nearly impossible.

As for my 338. The saw to me is the cats meow. Fast cutting, comfortable, light weight, power and a generously sized fuel tank. The saw is phenomenal. I reccommend it to any tree goober looking to upgrade saws. Butch...the handsaw that was on my saddle was the one they gave me at work...it's a no name handle with an ARS Turbo Cut blade on it. Here's a pic of the misses and I for all you gentleman in here. :)

Hey Tony, are you gonna be back up this way again come spring time? I've seen your aunt and uncle walking the dog around the block a couple times in the past few weeks.
