Next time you see a logger, ask him to show the next tree he cuts his dyno spread sheet and see
If he doesn't laugh at you.
Yeah, cause that's where "loggers" are pros. They understand the logic and value of the engineering that goes into the saw they use at work. Typical engineer types, those loggers.....

Thinking of porting my 441c and porting a 261c for my 2 main firewood saws. Cant see needing any bigger saw here in Louisiana for firewood than a ported 441c with 24" bar. Guess a 362c wouldnt fit in my situation?

The 261 cm is a better fit. And honestly if you're going the ported route you may try a 241.

If im not mistaken thats the 362 medium sized dual spike set with roller catcher and hardware isnt it Moody? I just bought one for my 261

Have u had a chance to run the 241c or port one Moody? What are your impressions of it compared to the 261?

No run time or port work on the 241. But I fondled one and it's a little lighter than the 261c. I prefer lighter weights over speed when I'm doing a lot of limb work. You don't have enough log to let the saw pull itself through. When I'm bucking a heavier saw isn't a problem. But you can't buck logs if the tree isn't on the ground and limbed out.

These are just my findings. Not that other numbers don't work better. On this particular saw I'm taking baby steps so I don't go past the limits of the m-tronic. I will say that the muffler mod on this saw acted much like advancing the timing on the OE. Better throttle response and a small difference in cut times but torque picked up after a couple of tanks. This saw is very comfortable to use bucking firewood but I HIGHLY SUGGEST that you buy some bucking spikes. The stamped one isn't very tough. In all honesty I'd rather buck logs with the 362cm than I would with the 562xp. The saw accelerates very quickly and doesn't handle too bad. The 562xp I believe still has the edge for overall handling and limbing speed.

The fuel mileage is pretty efficient and starting procedure is second to none. I just wish it had a option to be turned off.

Not a chance in hell of that happening.

KG, you have an excellent 2 saw combo with the 261/441, especially if they were both C-M or ported.

The only advantage of a 362 C-M is if you are in a pile of logs of all different sizes, it is a lot easier to reach up with the 362 than with a 441 and you will not feel the need to switch to a bigger saw for the bigger logs. It is a great "all around" saw. IMO, a ported 261 would fill the same bill, but a non ported non M-Tronic 261 will not compare to a 362 C-M.
