Ok, I'm in need of a little info. I'm hunting for a good saw I've got my eye on a Stihl 029..but I've got a buddy whose has a Jonsered 670 Champ and its one Hel* of a saw...I'm really trying to get ahold of saw "used" with at least a 24" bar and staying around the 500 mark...if I go for a new saw I'd have to stay around the 20" bar for the money....I cut and bust firewood but also do a little logging on the side to help with cash when needed (32 acres woods)....So whats the best saw for the money? I'd apprecaite all the info I can get.

Check the trading post here. Lots of good saws for sale. For 500 bucks you have tons and tons of options. Should be able to land a nice used 046, 044, 440, 066, husky 372, 371, 272, 271, 268......for 500 bucks.

LMAO... all those saws he listed will pull up to 32" bars in softwood...

The size of the bar does not make the size of the saw...

:agree2:
Advertising execs have made a ton of $$$ on re-badgeing the inadequate with the bigger is better (while the pro tools see no advertising and are left to fend for themselves ) , so use the search young man and gain the knowledge from this site .
