That picture doesn't seem like it was taken recently for a couple of reasons, but I could of course be wrong............

Jim brought the picture in and I took a photo copy of it and then thought I would post it so I took a digital picture of the copy. No this is not one of my saws. Jim is actually working for another outfit right now and this was a company saw. As for the saw being rotted... the real shame is; is that there is no mills around that can handle a big log like this. It would have had to ripped up with a chainsaw or shipped to Asia. Most of the big wood any more is anyhow.
 
Speaking of export,there is a timber buyer,in this area,that exports nearly 100 percent of his logs,mostly high grade peelers .That big old fir is a whooper,wow,so is the saw :)
 
Nice one, where were they cutting at to find that one? I know there are still a few spots around that have them like that but not many.
 
Yeah lots of big trees up there still. We got some nice 48" + off my place on the Kalama but nothing like that monster.
