flht What part of Southeast Texas are you from?

I used to live in Beaumont. Graduated from Nederland High School.

I've got six saws already, all run perfectly. Saw a MS290 for sale on Craig's List yesterday. Yup, I now own it. What's wrong with me? I blame you all!!!

:)

Yes, you _do_ have a problem. You don't have enough saws. Now the question becomes, What is 'enough saws'? Simple

As many as you have plus one.

You have lackosawitis, It can only be treated and never cured.
I recommend additional purchases to help ease your pain.
I myself needed to self medicate and have acquired an additional 6 in the last 20 days.
Your affliction may not be as severe as mine but do not be afraid to acquire additional meds as needed. No one here will think less of you if you cannot endure the pain of this affliction

Hi my name is Erick and I'm a sawaholic

It's been two weeks since my last saw purchase (an 036)

I was doing really well, not sure how I fell off the wagon. I was on ebay looking for something for my wife’s birthday and...................................

You fell off from the acceleration. The wagons powered by 880s and 3120. My name is Brian I,m a sawaholic. Its been 2 days since my last purchase. I vow to never again purchase another saw. Until next week any way. A ms180 so well have a baby saw.

I love my little MS180. My only complaint is that it's a little slow to rev, but with that pico kerf chain it cuts more than you'd expect.

Hi Jim!

Hope you intend to use it for firewood and not in the woods because you need constant access to bleed air. Get prepared to clean that air filter. Twice a day, at least. Probably as far from Huskys air injection as you can probably get. Otherwise an OK saw I guess, for it's price that is.

Maybe if you're running a dull chain.. if not knock if off ever few days... maybe..

Then you will probably have <1 hp out of that engine after a few days.
My father in law has a MS290. I ran it against my 353 as reference. I kept up OK in the beginning but after two hours of cutting (fresh pine), the saw wouldn't rev up as it should. The chain was OK. That for a saw that should be stronger than the 3,4hp of the 353. But you shouldn't expect more from the design. Filter attached directly on the carburator and no pre-filtration. My 026 isn't much better either.

Yup, MS290

Like most “deals”, it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. It runs good and strong but has a bit of a “rattle” in it. It has the original bar and chain on it and the chain was adjusted WAY too tight and I figured he just wiped that plastic caged clutch bearing out of it. Well, no such luck. He smoked the main bearing on the clutch side pretty well. Not a big deal…The bearing is very common and available from NAPA for cheap. The seals are a different story and needs to come from the dealer. Oh well, $25.00 worth of parts and it’ll be a pretty nice saw.
