So, now that I am happier with the 346, and thinking about switching it to 3/8's, thats another story. I am contemplating tearing into the 192t to see what gains might be had there, so how much of a PITA is this thing really to disassemble? Anybody been in one to look around and have any thoughts as to what might work?
Am I just out of my flipping mind for thinking about this at all to begin with?

I know, I know, but this has been rattling around in my head for some time now, and I have disscused it with others as well. But it would be cool to have close to the 200 power, with the balance and weight of the 192:)

That, and I think I am getting sicker:jester:

Yeah Roger seems real happy with it, the builder is very tight lipped about what was and wasn't done. I got nothing against the 200, just can't justify the cost, don't like the weight, and well........ I think I am sick:popcorn:
I have heard they are a bear to dissasemble, just wonderd how bad it really is.

They are not any worse than any other top handle saw. They are more difficult than the average med to large saw. I like to think of them as a new white and orange Mac WildCat or 320. If you are going to take it apart just pay close attention to how the linkages and parts fit together so you do not have to do it twice. Good luck.

Oh yeah, do not forget to drill lots of holes all over the place. Holes in the handle make it lighter and big holes in the bar do the same plus they are old school.:chainsaw: Cannot go wrong with old school.:jester:

With the way the 192 is designed you can't tighten the squish and any proper changing of exhaust port timing will lower the compression.

I would just port the muffler and be happy with it!!!

I've done the muffler mod and that made a lot of difference. I am not at all worried about changing the squish or the port timming, just wondered if the transfers could be opened up and intake and exhaust ports widend. Looking for a bit more tourqe, not more revs.

If that saws made the way I think it is, its going to be hard to get more torque out of it.

That is if it splits along the crank rather than splitting down the middle with a seperate jug.

Ever think of stepping down in the size chain your running?

You can put the PNM (3/8 0.043) on it ... makes a big difference... and anyone that argues should try it first!

Melted your case side yet with the muffer mod? :biggrinbounce2:
