When we pulled the top out I made the cut bout 4 to 5 feet below the hole. The butt slammed onto the drive and expoded and this is the cavity behind the hole. I didn't climb above the hole, no sir.

This one was real punky up there, the boys pulled through 4 inches of hinge, snapped it, the fibers where rotten.

dropped both poles but then had to run from the storm. I will get the logs out on sat. I will get the pics of the drop zone.

So....what is your point (in a serious tone).....looks like a couple of simple removals....or am I missing something???

Yes thanks dan; interesting look at that cavity.
Any timber value left in the logs?

Red oaks everywhere do not seem to be holding up very well under the changing climate.

Nah, no point really, just some fun. Thanks OD I like pictures too and thanks to anyone else who puts them up even you Mr. Murphy. and by the way, nothing is simple unless you are the exception teamtree. now go be serious somehweres else:greenchainsaw:

originally I think they wanted to get some mill logs and there is some value but I will cut them about 4 to 5 feet and sic the Dingo on them and use them for firewood. Maybe I will get a load.
The one I barely made a back cut and they ripped the top out from being real punky but the other had good holding fiber. I lowered maybe three branches from the 2nd and nothing on the first. Also had some other work to do there.

Sorry for asking a legit question. With the title I thought he was going somewhere with the post and then it was just a simple take down.

I say that because I have been called to deadwood about 80% of a tree because the customer wanted hang on to it as long as possible....so I was envisioning a stub with one green limb.

But no worries...I should be used to all the shenanagins that go in here.
