This job busted me up money wise. I had to climb that too many times from all of the angles before I finally got the last 3 limbs on those ends at the top right. My main TIP was in the orange circle and a backup TIP B in the orange square. If this pathetic Euc wood was going to break on me, at least I wasn't going to hit the ground with TIP B. I had to tie in at two more places in the red circles in order to stabilize me while pruning with the pole pruner. When I climbed up there the first time, and found out all I could do was spin in circles, I was P.O.

Not a great tip. If it had been me, just from looking at this pic, i'd have tried to tie in at the red circle up and to the left. Or even the branch behind it that looks like it starts leaning back to the right. Come down, walk out the branch to the yellow circle point, double wrap a lanyard around the upright and polesaw away while standing on the branch. If needing to walk out further, then redirect your line through that crotch on the upright at the yellow circle.

At least you got the job done and safely too.:biggrinbounce2:

ya your TIP doesnt have to be over you work the higher you get that rope and the farther away you get from your TIP the easier it will be for you to move around. i would have probably gone with the red circle to the right of the picture also.

I figured out that I was not going to walk that limb when I figured out how steep it is at the start of it, how slick Eucs are under my worn out boots, and how far off to the side any overhanging TIP would be. Hanging under it was the only way to go. I'm not afraid of falling tied in, but swinging into that tree... that's it. I'd have mess myself up enough to be out of work for a stint. With the bills dangling over my head the way with the least amount of risks was the way of the day.
