I guess that I am going to have to clean my saw. I pulled out this stump out of frozen ground today. It was kinda neat that the first 12" or so were frooze but underneath was not. I had to hack all the rocks out and use a bar.

Once I got it out I had to cut the root-cicle in half as it was too heavy for me to man handle.

Thank goodness for old worn out chains!

Man I love the crack of the stump breaking loose!

And I only fell in the creek once!

My little drainage ditch is becoming a creek in its own right these days.
(The boys are wondering what they are going to p-e-e on now as the stump is gone!)

That really does look like a piece of Paradise.
Nice countryside ya got there...

And to think we have no water or rain!

I've had a tank installed 3 weeks now and since I installed it we have had 5mm of rain in the middle of our wet season.

Lucky buggers.

Oh, we have a Bichon Frise too, they are characters and the kids love them as they're like a playful toy.

I will send you some of our rain/snow. We get far too much of it here.

Thanks..I actually live in the Town of Paradise but it is 40 km away from the woodlot.

Looks like that was a fun job Mike!

I have a lot of fun jobs and lots more to go

Here is a picture of this spot the day we started to clear.

You've got you place really looking good, Mike. It's quite an improvement from what you started with.

Those Bichon's are not nearly as wimpy as they look. My daughter just had to have one, and now he is 'top dog' around the house. The labs give him all the space he wants, and he won't ever let go during a tug-of-war with one of them despite getting slung all around the house. He growls the whole time he's swinging. We gave up taking him to the beauty shop, he's just come home and roll in the dirt until he looked like he did before we turned loose of all the money getting him cleaned up. :)

Yeah but look this for an improvement. Over the weekend I found these really old pictures, some over 100 years old. The train station show here is about 200 feet directly in front of the old cabin on the woodlot.

The stairs shown in that picture are still there but hidden under big pine trees.

What is interesting is that in the old pictures there are no trees around!

I put together a little slideshow on youtube with some pictures of the bay and trains and a german flying boat in front of the woodlot.
