Hi guy's,re-doing a 056AV.The carb was supposedly rebuilt before I got it but it flooded out and wouldn't run.I put a fresh kit in the carb ,now it tries to start but doesn't.Was wondering about the setting for the hi & lo screws and how to check the needle setting.Bought a new 32"GB bar for it and can't wait to see how it cuts!!IT seems to have a lot of compression, wears me out in about 10 miniutes on the rope!
Thanks Russ

I know on the smaller saws I have been told to screw both high and low screws all the way in, then back them out one turn on high setting, 7/8 turn on low setting for a start. On the float, set the needle arm level with the casting that it is surrounding it.

GENTLY screw idle screws in, dont force them when all the way in, or you can damage threads or seats.

Thanks Big Feller, that site was very informative.I put everything back the way they did on the previous rebuild, have to check to see if thats right.

If it continously floods...

- Check the needle valve SEAT with an otoscope or similar (lighted magnifier like the doctor sticks in your ear). They can get worn or damaged - then you start looking for a new carb.

- If it;s and HS carb, there are two different styles of metering diaphragm and lever arm - one hooks into the arm, the other rides on top. You must match the types correctly.

- gasket order...

Sorry Russ61 I didn't know Marky was still around and working on saws. Please communicate with him for all things concerning saws. He is an expert on all saws and can fix you right up. Thanks for jumping in and volunteering Mark. Best guy AS ever had and his grammar and spelling are top notch also. Mike
