You may remember the quote about arborists' identity crisis--his credibility compromised by being equated with the Tin Man from the Wizard of OZ, "... too stupid to know enough to come in out of the rain". I have varying degrees of success separating myself from that mind-set. Sometimes I feel like I've rusted shut.
Just as an addict must separate themself physically from associates who regard the objectionable behavior as acceptable, I must quit barhopping with my old woodsman cronies who paint wounds, make flushcuts, wear spurs and top trees.
Sure enough, last weekend, there I was out there, pub crawling with an old buddy known for his arrogant ignorance. Click on the attachment to see.
