Sorry, no chainsaws used in this short video....

BTW, you can watch in 1080 if your internet is quick enough......

Needed to make some 'cubes' for a customer, and I had just recently purchased a 'harness' for the GoPro Hero 3......why not do to things at once. Try out the harness(chest) and get some milling done.

Small chunks of Southern Red Oak with a touch of spalt and a LOT of mineral stain. These small 5.25" cubes on timber will be used for a three winged bowls(thinking about it now that it is late...I should have made one for me).

Ok...........

Scott, that is one hell of a way to clamp the mini in place, I'm gonna have to try that tomorrow!

Just got to really, I mean really keep an eye on them. If anything starts looking 'freaky'....yank the power and hope. Slow feeding and good band speed are a big help. But for making useful items out of firewood, a sacrificial 2x4 is the way to go. Clamp near one of the clamps and then bend the 2x4 enough to make things really tight.

Rather be doing logs, but I think it's been too wet out back lately to wrestle those pieces around? Tired of the rain already around here!

Was the umbrella your idea?

I've been trying to find a bargain basement GP army tent to put my mill in while I cut up the lumber for it's shed, but so far I've been striking out. If it wasn't for how impossible to retain blood it gets in the summers here (skeeters and deer flies are thick and thirsty), an umbrella would be a nice alternative. 100% DEET works pretty good, but if you sweat at all, they act like it's dressing.

Wife saw me milling one day while it was nearing 105*F in the summer....told me the umbrella would slide into the upright. It's been there ever since....
