Tonight.....

The wife is away until bedtime, so it's me and the kids for the evening. Plus my oldest son is home from college for a long weekend.

We're going to have a fire in the firepit and roast marshmallows. I've got the tiki torches all filled and ready to go, and a nice load of cedar, oak, and junkwood to burn.

We're also going to light a Scandanavian candle. I cut down a couple small cedar trees last year and cut the rounds into the candles. They've been drying since then and should be wonderful now.

I'll also start our woodstove for the first time tonight. Not cold enough to keep it going, though. I wish I had more junk wood to burn, but I have 99% oak.

Anyway, the wife will be home about bedtime, so that'll be a good end to a good day.

Sounds like a great evening with family.

Having to much Oak ain't a bad thing but I completely understand.....shoving in quality wood in the early stages of burn season seems wasteful.

Apparently you are unfamiliar with my reputation. Let's just say that when it comes to the physical relationship with my wife, I am very well satisfied.
10 kids so far is good evidence of that.
