Land of 10,000 lakes.
Landowner I work for a lot called me today and said he had a tree come down at a bar he owns. He said that it fell right into the parking lot and was easy to get to. I went and took a look and it was a big old cottonwood. I didn't really want anything to do with it but I cut a lot of tree's for him and I don't want to lose the wood. It was way too warm today but I got it all cut and cleaned up.

I wouldn't mind "too warm", it's been raining here the last 3 days and I'm honestly surprised it's not snow.

What did you do with all the brush? That is the part I hate about 'wooding'.

Your chain is wicked loose. Must be because the bar is upside down.
Lol. I always laugh when people tell me that. I turn my bar every sharpening for even wear. Would it still be upside down if it didn't have writing on it?? It's a new chain and a single bar nut saw.

It's one of those situations where even if you don't want or need the wood at the time it's a favor that could pay dividends down the road.
That is true! I cut 3 trees down for a coworker and didn't ask for a thing. He gave me an IOU which I later cashed in for a pick up and delivery of a short block 350 from a junk yard to my garage. Then a few weeks later he told me his neighbor wanted a couple trees cut and would give me $50. Well $50 wa actually $60 when I was done and he said he wanted more cut at another time. That was the easiest hour/1.5 hr or work I've ever done.

I get asked to cut trees for friends and family a lot. My stipulation is that I will pile the brush but they get to have it removed. So far I've only had one person say no.

I had a friend call me with kind of the same situation.
He had cut down a large Poplar and wanted to know if I could help him remove it from his cottage property for the wood.
I usually don't bother with softwoods and burn only hardwoods in the wood stove, but seeing as he is a nice fellow and a friend I helped and took all the large rounds home to season for a year.
Then this Summer I decided I may as well split them and fill up old pellet bags and try to sell it for camp fire wood.
No sooner did I get the 60 bags advertised at $4/bag and they were all sold to two different guys two days after I put them on Kijiji.
Who would have known.
Just something for all of us to think about.
