tool question

I need the tool part that replaces the spark plug that is used to pressure test engins. I have seen it advertised somewhere, but can not remember where. If someone will tell me who sell the part I will appreciate it. If any one on this site sells these tools let me know. Thanks Tom

its called a compression gauge. Baileys sells them as well as most autoparts stores.

I have a compression gauge. What I am looking for is a part that screws into the place for the spark plug and is hollow so you can attach a pressure or vacuum gauge to it and check for leaks around the seals or head gasket. Tom

That's not where it's generally attached... You may be thinking of a "leak-down" tester..

I am wanting something to test for leaks, (seals, head gasket and possible in the castings). Would it not be possible to block the carb. manifold and the muffler exhaust and run piston down to BDC and use spark plug hole to apply pressure or vacuum.. Thanks Tom

Piston stop/ pressure test tool---- part # 503-844001, any jonsered dealer should be able to get it. or anyone deals with tilton.
