Topped Off Pine Down

Dropped this pine tonight so we could start milling this week or weekend. It's over 23 feet long (lost some off the top) so we should get some nice boards from this.

mtngun, thanks. The bigger downed pine (blowdown) is back on our property I cut on, this is around the house. Question on the milling, I have nine foot ez rails and this tree is over 23 feet long so would I be better off milling sections just over 7 feet long, this will be for the outside of some out building.

Depends on what lengths you need for your building project.

It's nice to have 10" or so rail stick past the log, to make it easier to start and stop the cut, but in an pinch you can make do without the overhang.

Should find out if I'm rolling with it this afternoon. Should be nice on a ten footer, two foot overhang on both ends.:msp_thumbup:

The five foot ez rails with the connectors will be in on Monday, that will give us 14 feet of ez rails.

So this weekend I will hold off on milling the 10 footers.
