I bought a 5 x 8 or was it 10? from tractor supply to haul my Kawasaki Teryx , after getting it home I decided it wasn't quite large enough so the gladly took it back as a trade in on the bigger 7 x 12 dual gate. I never did register the first trailer and took it back the very next day. That being said, The first trailer I bought was discounted by 10% due to some paint flaws, so the price after 10% was around 900 bucks. I got a credit for that and put it towards the bigger trailer which listed for like 1495 but was in much worse shape as far as the paint job, they again deducted 10% off that one as well. All said and done, both trailers are built with pretty low standards and quality. The mesh on the gate came un-welded which was scary walking on it when it happened.
I would shop around for a better built trailer and pay a little more to have something that will last a few years. Mine is not quite 3 yrs old and looks to be going on 15 years old! The only thing it has ever had on it is my Teryx and doesn't get used in the winter at all. (still has rust coming on it everywhere)
good luck,
dave

Well, guys, my new-to-me trailer is home - it's the red one pictured above. It 'fits' me even though it's only 4x8. Metal looks great - bought it from a landscaper who is, I think, going out of business. He said, and I can tell, it was only used on our Wisconsin roads in the summer hauling their lawn mowers/aerators around. Zilch rust underneath. I think I'd call that a 2+" oak board deck. She's built like a brick. :)

I borrowed a pintle hitch from a friend - I'm not sure I like the pintle yet.... but I love the trailer! I have to get some expanded metal or wood for sides (prefer metal), swap out round 6 pin wiring for 4 pin flat but considering the prices I found on a new ones this one beats new not only in price but in quality. Also want to figure out how to haul my oversize dolly on the trailer somewhere and mount a spare on the trailer. I measured where the spare would hook on the front and the winch should still fit up there. She's certainly looks better than my other trailer and will be a LOT safer going down the road with the loads I haul.

EDIT: Chains are way too long and the hooks don't fit correctly into my hitch so have to work on a rehab there also.

the pintle is great if you are pulling it off road on a lot of uneven surfaces, thats where they really shine compared to a standard ball setup
i would use wood for sides over expanded metal any day, expanded metal dents too easy, especially when 100+ pound logs are getting banged around, then you break it trying to bend it back, anyone can replace wood if/when it cracks, not everyone has a welder
grab the top of a wheel and see if you can shake them back and fourth, see if there is any play in the bearings
other than that, congrats on the trailer, enjoy
