Transporting Hickory & Bugs?

My brother has pile of mockernut hickory that's been sitting about 2-3 yrs...he no longer needs it.
Yet, I've noticed most of it has a few small insect holes, about 3-4 holes per stick I'd say.

Is this too much of risk transporting back to my house for firewood...its about a half a cord...the wood is still hard as nails & intact.

Just checking with somebody with more experience with hickory and bugs!

Depends on regulations in your area. If theres no issue there and the wood is solid I'd take it.

Hickory around here always gets chewed up by bugs, that's just how Hickory is. I wouldn't worry about it, and it's awesome wood to burn.

I see powder post beetles in hickory all the time.
