Diane got me one for Christmas, I've been reading old (free) philosophy books for the most part this past week.

I searched "Tree Biology" in the store and this titel came up
"Iron Nutrition in Plants and Rhizospheric Microorganisms." Larry L. Barton (Editor), Javier Abadia (Editor)

$180 fro the printm $19.00 for the e-book.

There is anotherone on the propigation and use of the Norway Spruce for $250 or so

122 titles in the search. I'm adding the Fe title to my wish list ;) too many of the titles are out of my price range.

I like my kindle, i was amazed how many free titles there are. I just finnished "Remarkable Tree's Of The World" by Tomas Pakenham not on the kindle though, it was pretty good>> That would be the life, Traveling the world photographing and writing about tree's.

I've got an iPad and would like to know about any good titles you find at reasonable prices.

Therein lies the rub, what we find a reasonable price cannot be used on such limited runs in the publishing world.

What I see as a book i would like to read in plant science has a price tag i need to save up for

Below is a search of the kindle library for Tree Biology, sorted by price. Might be cookie'd to our account, I can't pair out any of the code in the URL.

Amazon.com: tree biology: Kindle Store

Thanks for that list. Some of those titles are rather esoteric and the prices are outrageous considering that there are no publishing costs compared to the paper book.

This clearly is gouging the early adopters. Soon I think the paper books will have to come with a free eBook version as an incentive to buy and to be competitive.

The ebook Fungal Strategies is $10 more than the hard copy--screw that. I'd rather hold the book in my hand...

That said, I got an ipad so will be looking into that free list.

Just give it a few years, soon you will be able to get an e-book on any device. Prices will come down and more people will write just for the electronic media. Maybe someone from arboristsite will write an awesome tree climbing book! That's the beauty of e-books you can create, publish and distribute all by your self.
