Say a tree has a life span, in Kansas, under ideal conditions of 300 years. Let's also assume the average Kansas homeowner stays put for 7 years. To support a tree with an ANSI approved cabling system, would be like saddling dead horse?
Sure sounds like an ill-informed pro-Bush piece of work to me.
Mike- I am just saying that you can't always save the world. If the tree is in good shape then go ahead and cable it. As far a your comment about "pro-Bush", I don't really like that much bush, a little is o.k. but mostly I like it shaved.
Typically, when growing trees in a nursery you don't need to cable. If when inspecting your trees you find that some need cabling you usually haul them of to the burn pit or garbage. If you really like these trees and can't seem to discard them, you can drill little teeny weenie holes in them and use a fine monofilament to safely secure the offending branches.
