I don't know what type of tree this is, but my wife loves it. Unfortunately, it seems to be dying, but every year it marshals itself and comes back in the spring with new leaves. Then in late summer it begins to lose all its leaves, starting at the top of the canopy and moving down to the tips of each branch.
Although I suspect it is heat stress, the leaves all have little holes in them, making me suspect something else. Can anyone help me determine what type of tree this is and what is afflicting it?
