So what is it? It does look a lot like the tamarack in my area. I have cut a lot of it and the older sickly ones will get that yellowy looking thing going on.

On a second look Tamarack, I.E. "The Larch" is more likely. First one is totaly still a Doug Fir though.

The bark in the first pic looks like Fir for sure, but the heart wood suggests a hardwood, but I'll stick to the fur.

Riff Raff Fart Knocker from other Forum's.
Looks like Mountain Hemlock to me. Based off of geography, bark structure, and color of heartwood.
