This little pine tree looking plant started sprouting up in our flower garden. I have no idea where it came from. The pine tree near it (in the picture below) is within 45 feet of where it's growing, but it seems different from that pine.
Can someone tell me if it is a baby from the tree below (which would be the first time any seed from that tree took hold in the ground), or if it's another species of plant.

I agree that the seedling looks like hemlock on first look...maybe a little spruce? The bigger tree is a spruce. Are the needles on the seedling soft or a little "pokey"?
 
Then I'll stick with hemlock... Spruce seedlings are softer than the mature trees, but by this time of the year, the needles wouldn't be all that soft.
