I am working on a Stihl saw that has no badging. I was told it was an 064, but it looks similar to an 066. the SN is 19136811. I couldn't find a portal to search for model via sn. I need to find the proper flywheel and recoil for it. is it an 064 or and 066? is there another way to determine the model? Thanks in advance. Ben

There is and its been posted several times, one needs to just look at the oil pump to know for certain and I have heard all of the excuses not to be bothered. I f the oil pump has a hose feeding the bar oil to the chainbar pad it is an 064, if it has no hose it is an 066/MS660

The 064 was built with a metallic frame extending out on the filter base that holds the air filter into position. I believe that frame never showed up on an 066 or the 660. But, I could be wrong.

I wondered about that because I swear I had a early 066 with it. But saw long gone.

Checking IPL on 066 it shows it and the later one.

I have a very early 066 and it looks like the exploded view in previous post. The bar oil pump is the way; hose or no hose.
