does anyone know of a good website that has good reference pictures for identifying trees? and is easy to navigate? i have a question about one of our trees in the city, i think it might be a winged elm? does this sound familiar to anyone?we checked m. dirrs book and it has some of the characteristics described but the picture is of a leaf. not much help in winter!!

Grey's Key

Grey's Key is not a website but a series of books on plants that I used to learn trees. That did not require that you have leaves because it showed buds and other things to read on the tree that allowed you to identify the trees. I don't believe I've ever seen Grey's Key mentioned on this site though it is very useful in identifying (plants) TREES. Reading books until they get them all online may be the answer.
