In PNW area there is an artificial wetland (less than 1ft of water about 6 months per year) that was created a few decades ago as a 2-3 acre storm water catch basin and headwater of intermittent creek. There are large tall maples, cherry, and willows in/near the storm water collection that don't seem to like it much and I think they were here before the artificial catch basin was created. The result is large mature tall trees leaning and/or falling over everywhere, perhaps poisoned by the storm water runoff or biannual saturated soil or both? Was hoping a tree rope winch and some large sturdy braces could save these very-much-still-alive-trees from early graves by bracing them in 65-75° angles. Any honest input or other ideas are appreciated.
