I do get busy with my lawns at times sorry for the lapse of time.
I just came back to say thanks and my question yet fulfilled with your responses still leaves me with no chart. "Far fetched", as I might have assumed from the beginning.
Anyway what spurred my curiosity was reading nameplates on plants I saw at the Bronx Botanical Gardens. I am sometimes surprised at the relation of some plants. Just taking a shot at the chart theory but I see it back the books.
I am happy with the recommendations I got. I have them ready to order on amazon as soon as I get through some bills. Thanks again!

go to http://www.cnr.vt.edu/DENDRO/DENDROLOGY/main.htm and you will have access to a lot of tree id and you will learn how to id trees based on similar characteristics.
