I have a tree farmer c5d with the three speed powershift tranny. The other day while pulling a decent hitch probably like six hundred ft I lost first gear so I limped her to the landing in second. I dropped the fluid an filter an replaced both. First gear is toast. Second seams fine. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem an what is my next step. I can fix most everything. Is this fixable or does it need a shop. Where can I get a shop manual for this tranny. It's a Clark tranny. The tranny was burning hot at the time. As I'm sure all you loggers know as a whole us loggers are hurting. Sawlog markets are way down with only oak an maple holding on, pine is nonexistent except for some local mills that if your lucky might take two loads a week. Well thanks guys I appredciate any help I can get.

Call Swinton's up, there up in glensfalls and can get you going in the right direction. Their number is in the phone book

I'd pull that junk auto and put in a 5 speed from a donor skidder...I know Eddie Nash in Colebrook NH has literally dozens of Tree Farmers, and twice as many parts machines...
It shouldn't be a big deal to swap it around, the clutch Assembly is simple enough.

If you fix the powershift trans. make sure you inspect all oil lines for restrictions and that the cooler is clean and fully functioning. A rebuilt powershift will overheat and destroy itself just as easily as an old one.
