Trees dying?

I have a few trees in my back yard, apple tree, pecan tree, and then this tree that use to grow berries. Well the berry tree doesn't make berries anymore, and is dying on the top, it still has life. . . And the apple tree is doing the same (dying on top) also a lot of the pecan trees branches are dying. These trees are old. like 30+ years. I will post pictures when it is light out. But what do you think? I know some of the berry trees roots are exposed, should I cover them back up? I would hate for the trees to die!! D:
