Hello to all: I was on another site and found these pictures with the decals I need on this old Disston. The Pictures were taken at the Paul Bunyan show in Ohio, put on by Hocking Forestry College. I am looking for the name of the exhibitor. I contacted the college and they refered me to the ohioforest.org website:< http://www.ohioforest.org/forums >. I've posted there, but the site doesn't appear to be too active. It appears to have been started about a year ago and only has 7 members and 6 post on the unmonitored forum. I was wondering if anyone might recognise these pictures and the exhibitor. Thanks for looking. Lewis.

Lewis,
I remember looking at those old saws when they were at the Paul Bunyon Show, I think, during 2003. Your best bet is to call the Ohio Forestry Association as they are responsible for the venders/exhibitors that set up booths at the show; I doubt they have detailed records on the types of exhibits these people had during that time frame, but you never know? The most recent number I have for the OFA is 614-486-6767. I doubt that this number is still current, but it's worth a shot.

All the best,
Arden Cogar Jr. aka Jamie

Decals

It's a stab in the dark,so to speak, but this guy,Jack Maple,of Rushville Ind,317-932-2027,made,at one time,a large assortment of decals for farm tractors. He also made a few for stationary engines.I spoke with him at the Portland Ind. steam show, several years ago.He remarked,at that time,he could make a decal, for about anything.I got the phone number from a "google" search,Jack Maple decals, perhaps more info could be obtained, there in.

Decals:

To Al and Arden (Jamie). Thanks for the replies and phone numbers. I'll give them a try. I've sent emails tot the Ohio Forestry College at Hocking, they made some suggestions but so far nothing. I'll give the phone numbers a shot. Thanks again guys. Lewis.

Lewis,

I have not forgotten the Homelite decals. I am having trouble making a good copy. Since they are in color a B/W printer does not do well with them

To Bill G.

Hi Bill. I believe that I have the decals coming for the Homelite, 5-20. I have the instruction decal and the recoil decals being mailed to me right now. I'm going to try to make the other side decal for the gearbox. Hopefully they're the right ones. The only decal I'll be missing is the white HOMELITE decal above the gas cap. Maybe you could help with that decal from your printer. Thanks. Lewis.

Lewis,

I emailed you a scan tonight (12/30) of the decal I believe you need. If that does not work let me know and I will see what else I can do. If the emailed scans work I can send you many more. alo was there some IPL's you needed ?

Thanks,
Bill

Hi Bill G.

Hi Bill.. Got the email and will save it for now. I've got to find some material to print them on (Decal paper). Not sure if the local stores carry it around here, there's one that might, or can get it. Once I get the decals being sent to me in the mail, I'll start cleaning, priming and painting the saw. I just hope the decals being sent are the right ones. Will be great to get that saw finished. I haven't searched for the Paint as yet. Do you or anyone on this site have any suggestions for the Orange Paint color code? Thanks. Lewis.

I corrected the thread. Sorry about that. Been reading a bunch of post and getting names mixed up again ( the start of OLD TIMERS disease ). Guess that's what happens when your thinking about too many thing at once. Thanks. Lewis.

Think nothing of it.I do it on occasion myself.A certain time ,sticks in my mind, however, when I called my present wife,my ex-wifes name. Not a Kodak moment,to say the least.

Reguarding misspeaking:

Ha, Hi Al. I know what you mean. Married 25 years to the first one and now married 8 years the 25th of Jan to my present wife. I've only made that mistake myself 2 times (as you say, not a Kodak moment). My relitives still do it on ocassion. She just grins and gets that particular look and just laughs. She realizes that they're more embarrased than she is. Anyway life goes on, but it has it's monents. My problem is I get to reading threads and flipping back and forth in writing a responces and sometimes end up with the wrong names when I try to respond. I try to proof read, but I sure missed that one. Talk Later. Happy New Year. Lewis.
