I have a giant 24 " dbh scotch pine that was infested with the black turpentine beetle that I treated with systemic Merit earlier this year. Killed the pests. They came back. Now the tree is starting to lose needles and die back. I treated it again. Do you think it has a chance. pics to come.

Try Onyx its a high concentrate Bifenthrin thats designed to control borers and bark beetles. I think the mixing rate is around 12oz/ 100 gal.. Spray it on to the trunk and branches until wet. Most of the time treatments are combined with a systemic soil injection(once a year) but unlike the systemic the trunk application can be repeated as needed.

I havent tried it on turpentine beetle but I have used it on Bronze Birch Borer and it seems to work as long as they've emerged and are active
