Today I made up a new chain for my 066. I counted the drivers on the old one and read on the bar, both said 114. After making the chain, I had a devil of a time getting it shoe horned on the bar. Recounted, yup 114. After some struggle, I got the chain on. Ran the saw for a little to get the stretch going. Snugged up the tension. Ran some more and got just a little more sag. I'v never had such a time getting a chain on unless I built it too small.

Any ideas why it was snug?

As long as I was breaking chain, I made up an extra for my Jonny 2149 and its cousin Husky 350. Now I'm going to need a new spool of chain.

What chain would anyone advise. I am partial to Oregon but not addicted.

Thanks,

Tom

066's use a chain that is 1 link longer to make it easier to put it on and off.......expecially if you have an 8 tooth sprocket on there........try a 115 link chain......you'll be golden.
