melted covers

If you guys are having a problem with melted covers on your ropes, you should try one of the following. These are all covers only but we at west marine rigging and other rigging shops do put a core in them.

New England ropes : HRC heat resistant cover
Sampson Ropes : Ice
Marlow Ropes : Nomex

We use these ropes alot in high friction areas and have very good results. These ropes do have a bigger price tag but the long term use is well worth the buck......

sticky

i was using some tennex tied in 4/1 distel, it was advancing easily but it is now taking some effort to advance it when it is fully loaded. which is bugging me. i did have a bit of a fast descent on it prior to this change. not checked the cord as of yet.

dont really know where that comment was going

i found my tennex stiffened up too after a while, so i stopped using it and im not using marlow polyester double braid
its about a tenth of the price and works way better.

captin caveman (the boss) came out with the comment of isnt that rope (16 strand) pretty expensive for rasping over trees......
