Mike,

I would suspect that there may be a plug bidder in the works. If you have 6 of the 150"s you may want to unload them now as the market is hot. I would take them off your hands as long as it was at the price I normally give for them. I am a sucker for Homelites. Come to think of it, if you sold the 150's what would you use the chains I sold you on ?

There's an XL12 that has been relisted at least four times. The buy it now (and I assume the reserve) is always $149. Maybe the guys bidding on the 150 should check it out:)

The XL-12 is not worth anywhere near the $175 it would take to buy it with shipping but it will make a 150 look like a hand saw. There is an SXL on ebay tonight that had an opening bid of $100 and has a bid on it. I love Homelites but I buy them with common sense. I just bought a XL today that is one of the originals with the green and red paint. I just had to have it. I guess it was worth a half a tank of gas.

WOW! $305... Just 5 cents more than the saw alone sold for new in 1984. One of the things that make an auction interesting is 2 determined bidders that have their own value system.

I am surely missing something here. Why would anyone push that saw that high ? Also although that saw is worth no where near $305 we really cannot compare it to the price it was new. The original price has little to do with older equipment. A case in point is anyone who has tried to buy a John Deere 4020 tractor. I am not sure but I believe they sold for under $10,000 new but now choice ones are selling for near $15,000. Another case is a 1989 Case IH 7120 that was roughly $50,000 new and sold used in 1991 for $29,000 with 1000 hours on it. The same tractors are now 14 years old with 5000 hours on them and selling for well over $30,000.
