warmer winter temperatures , Ice caps are melting, the oceans rising , baby seals are dying polar bears are migrating .walmart can't sell one snow shovel and can't keep men's speedos in stock ....this can only mean one thing and that it wasn't a big hoax to make money it's real and honest al gore is right all along !

Had another 8" snow yesterday, maybe a couple overnight and today. Although, only had a fire going this morning and it is still 71 degrees in house as of 9 PM tonight. Burned about 1/2 a cord or so this year so far.

I was hoping for a little cold weather to put a cap of ice on the lakes for a little hardwater fishing. Got a couple new poles, Vexilar is charged and auger started on first pull the other day!!!!!! Bring it on!!!

sounds like t shirt weather to me, almost warm enough for a swim.

Jusst came out of almost a week of temps about 15 degrees below normal (mid teens/low 20s) and tomorrow starts a week to 10 days of temps 10 degrees ABOVE normal, up into the 40s. Some chance of snow tonight and tomorrow morning but rain will wipe that out by Thursday morning. Going to do some damage to what little snow there is in the mountains.

Our lowest low predicted in the next 10 days is 16 with highs in mid to high 30's every day.

I'll take it.

Dang right. I'm ok with that too.

We all know the pendulum is going to swing back the other way.

If the winter stays mild like this, I'm hoping to just get ahead....for once

Neighbor and I are going to cut Sunday with our new system. I'll try and get a video

Your lows are quit a bit higher than our high temps. I've been keeping real busy getting firewood out and I'm not complaining one bit!

The past two years have been bitter and just awful in the fall and winter but this year has been very mild almost spring like, Grass is still growing in spots hard to be leave last year at this time i was hibernating in the house when i wasn't working.
Does the el nino have something to do with this?
Here is my weather in my area.

It's been down to -15* here. Though it went from -15* to 50* as well. Thanksgiving it was pouring rain and then a few days later froze rock hard. All the ruts in the mud by the log decks are now like hanging on a bucking horse when in the skid steer.
I tried to smooth them out with the 210 excavator yesterday, may as well been 12" of concrete.

Where it's smooth though is real nice, it's like having a paved yard. No dirt hanging to the logs, no ruts when turning. I spent several hours with pushing all the branches and junk into a 40ft pile for a bonfire.

We've normally had subzero weather by now.

is the air dryer in alaska during the winter? most of time in my state during the winter there is quite a bit of moisture in the air and it can make it feel colder than it actually is specially with wind mixed into it.

el nino to bring a "milder" winter into the northeast this year. we might not even have a "white xmas", so they are predicting. some saying only half of the annual snowfall for this winter.

I'm not complaining.

It has been mild but I know d.... well that it isn't going to stay that way. I well remember some winter seasons with no snow on ground by the end of Dec. and that it was -30 windchills at the same time during the day. And I have experienced 70deg temps for a week or better in Jan. followed by a week of sub zero for highs. Mother Nature is just lulling you into denial but watch out for that right hook, it always a dusey
