I'd like some opinions from you guys on what kind of warranty you would expect when buying a used saw.
I've always shied away from selling used saws, unless one was in near perfect shape and I knew where it came from. It's just too easy to get burned with older 2 cycle stuff, and I would never want to damage our reputation by selling something and then have it blow up on someone. Plus, when people buy from a dealer, they expect some kind of warranty, which I can understand.
I recently went into one of my Dr. Frankenstein moods and "created" some running saws from the dead saw pile. (Financially, this is actually kind of dumb, as I can make far more money selling the parts. Even at 1/2 the retail of new ones).
So, I'm thinking of selling them cheap enough, that a warranty won't be expected. Say, $100 for a 350 and $150 for a 359? Obviously, tell everyone the history and how I peiced them together. Let them go out and make a few cuts and just go with their gut feeling on whether or not they want to buy it. Think that's fair?
