Hi, I am looking at buying a harvester that can be used for transporting logs as well. It seems that Valtra with a harvester and crane fitted looks like a sensible option?
Due to demand for firewood, we are forced to invest in equipment. Thus we are looking at the above, plus a large processor, plus a winch tractor, for plantations where we can't use Valtra. We will also invest in a truck or 2 for deliveries. Our volumes for 2018 is in excess of 12000 ton.
We only cut Eucalyptus, blue gum in plantations of size 0.2 to 14 hectares, all amongst wheat fields, so good access. All trees are in 2 meter x 2 meter grid, so orchard tractor will fit nicely.
