most cherry that is grown in yards is not straight for all 45' that you are saying the log is long. as a whole, you can probably figure only getting $250 for a nice clear butt log and less as you work your way down the main stem. I would imagine that there are defects that any grade mill will likey gig you on due to galls, anthropogenic defects (nails, shot holes etc.) , and then with this being a cherry tree we must talk about bird peck. All in all man, if you can get it to a grade log yard on your own you may make a few dollars if you have some good logs. If you have the means, cut the log into 12' 6'' logs (this allows 3'' trim on each end). If at any time you hit heart rot, stop your efforts and put the wood in the firewood pile.
