I have a vermeer 665a stump grinder with a wiconson engine. I have a misfire on one cylinder. I've replaced the plug wires and plugs. Compression on that cylinder is 125 psi. Cap and rotor are not new but look ok. I lightly took emory cloth to the inside of the cap on each post. I believe i have good fire at the plug. Help help

Vermeer 665a misfire

After eliminating any spark issues and compression was equal across the board i removed the intake only to find a severely misaligned intake gasket, problem solved. Basic mechanics!!

I had a Wisconsin in a Bandit 65 that had no compression in one cylinder. I opened the head and found rubber melted in the cylinder. Then I notice the intake valve didn't open. Check that and found the adjuster bolt missing. Scratched my head for a while, cleaned it up, put it back together with a new adjuster and it ran fine. To this day I can't imagine what that was all about.
