This thread is for the misc chains that members are getting from Valley Firewood. I guess if you happen to have a surplus of chains otherwise and want to join there is no harm :) I prefer TRADING for chain ... since that was what I wanted from VF in the first place, i'm not expecting to profit from this.

Please post in this format:

chains are annoyingly specific

most important, BRAND(oregon, windsor etc), gauge (043,050,058,063), type (chisel, low pro, semi, rip etc), DRIVE LINK # ... this is more important than bar length, and safety or non safety.

I'll start it.... I am not done with sorting, filing, etc, but I'll post what I have....

Six loops of nearly spent chains. 3/8. THESE ARE SHIPPED FOR FREE to a good home. If said recipient decides these have value, he's welcome to make a donation in the form of chains to me, but no pressure.

now for the specific ones.....the bags are numbered to help out... and the ones that say sharp have been on my grinder ... rakers are UNTOUCHED, and will need to be ground for preference
i've spent a lot of time trying to make sure the DL are correct, forgive me if I miss something

1. Stihl 3/8 050 lo pro 56dl sharp non safety
2. Stihl 3/8 050 81dl full chisel non safety sharp
3. Stihl 3/8 050 60dl full chisel non safety sharp
4. Oregon 3/8 050 60dl semi chisel non safety sharp
5. Oregon .325 063 78dl full chisel non safety sharp
6. Oregon 3/8 050 72V 64DL full chisel vanguard type raker sharp
7. Oregon 3/8 063 80DL full chisel SQUARE GROUND (not by me...didn't touch it) SKIP
8. Husky 3/8 050 60dl semi chisel sharp non safety
9. Windsor 3/8 058 67dl full chisel sharp non safety
10. Oregon 3/8 050 84dl full chisel sharp non safety SKIP
11. Oregon 3/8 063 84dl full chisel SQUARE GROUND (not by me...didn't touch it) SKIP

I want: ( prefer full chisel )

oregon #'s
95vx066g. 325 050 66dl
72lgx072g. 375 050 72dl
73lgx084g. (Or skip chain) 375 058 84dl
72lgx093g. Or skip. 375 050 93dl
75lgx115dl or skip. 375 063 115dl.

as a suggestion, if we do this as kind a round robin, it would be kinda silly to ship less than 6 chains.... so as chains go around, hopefully people collect them as bundles, whether they need them or not, but that way it makes it easier to trade....

thanks for lookin!

Here's a pic of the 3/8's I got. Some is oregon, stihl, woodland pro, Husqvarna. I have a new square chisel, some round chisel and some semi chisel. I think there's only one safety type chain in bunch. Don't have the exact link count yet but will get a link count this weekend along with types. I'm not familiar with all brands and sizes. I know oregon chain as far as 72, 73 and 75 but stihl ,husky n woodland numbers I'll do some research. I'll try my best to describe each chain n condition. They won't be sharpened or cleaned. I'm looking for a 3/8's 50 guage bar for stihl 660 in 28" length. Also same guage n pitch for 16" bar for 260 stihl or chains. I believe they are 60 drivers for 3/8 16" bar.

Another pic of 3/8's. I believe they range from 16-24 but I'll confirm over weekend with drive link counts.

Ok, so how about this for a deal... I'll trade the chains I have listed above ... 13 chains .... and ship to anyone that will ship me SIX new 72lgx072g chains. left coast supply has them at $14.63 each

http://leftcoastsupplies.com/product/super-guard-chisel-chain-38-4/

or, if someone wanted the best deal going, (this is 10, I only want six out of this lot)

http://www.ebay.com/itm/221603828140?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

I'll include the nearly trashed chains as well if you'd like.

anyone?

I'm interested in your number #3, 4, 8 n 10. How many loops in each group? Pics of what shape they are in? Are they half life or better?

At least you are supporting postal workers! That's patriotic.

Will you shorten/lengthen chains to accommodate recipient's requests?

Those "groups" are individual chains. 14 "groups" 14 chains. So the 4 "groups" you picked out, are 4 individual chains.

I do not have a breaker / spinner. If I did, I'd have many more chains that I'd be using out of this lot.
