Oops, Strike that. I believe I patched the green pair and it would have held, except for the injury was a seam ripping out. What worked the best was innertube, put on with sole saver? That stuff they sell at saw shops here, then I covered that with more of the sticky stuff and pink duct tape stuck with the sticky stuff. I believe that would work well if just a hole and not a seam thing.

Shoe goo did not work.

Insert a bottle or somethig inside to make the foot part hold still. You can drink what is in the bottle afterwards. A can will also work.

It is great stuff .. Thats the name of it ,,, free sole ..
I put a bunch of it on my Loggers Wear rubber corks 6 years ago and it is still there .. same with X Tra Tuffs .. It,s like Sho Goo on steroids ..

:agree2::agree2: I have used it a bunch too...works great. Another alternative is some similar stuff called "aquaseal".

Nope. Patch them and they will have character.
Plus you'll have saved a hundred bucks, not considering the cost of the Freesole stuff. Or colored duck tape should you choose to reinforce whatever.

Yup...that's the way we do it. Maybe all those rich NH loggers can afford to throw away repairable boots but us poor Left Coast types just have to make do. :hmm3grin2orange:

Wish I had a picture of one of my pairs of Kulien corks...they have LOT'S of character!

:hmm3grin2orange: I have enough tax write offs.:) And why toss a perfectly good pair of boots that a couple of bucks worth of repair can fix? If I used your logic as a guide I'd buy a new 660 every time mine got dirty and push my D6 over a cliff whenever it was time for new filters. Oh, and there's a cracked window on the crummy...maybe I'll just bop on over to the Ford dealer and get a new one. Or two. What the hell...it's write-off. :)

Thanks for the tip. I can't find that stuff anywhere around here so I'll order some on line.

In the mean time I'm using Slowp's remedy...duct tape.

Try to use a coordinating color. Yellow or green would be nice. Green might make it so your feet don't show up in the brush though, and then you might cut your boot. So, I think yellow would be the best. :D
