Stihl new old stock. Going to try pictures for the third time…. So much advertisement on this site I get kicked off trying to download pics… 1970’s scabbards and bars. Question for old timers?? Why don’t the picco bars not have oil pump holes in them? I thought that was what oilomatic was?? Factory defect?? They are from the mid 70’s also?? Packages are stapled shut, but can look in seam in back. Only the 5 bigger bars have oil pump holes in them.
Any thoughts???

Are you sure there are not these oil holes in the Picco bars? On the graphics visible on the packages they are drawn.
I estimate that these things date from the 1981-1984 range.
The name Oilomatic used to be just a proprietary name for Stihl chains. These days they are unlikely to use it anymore.

Here’s one that was open. The newer one is mine.
Thanks for the information.

Thanks for the pictures.
Obviously, as you can see from the photos, the packages were not specifically designed for Picco (3005 mount) guide bars. Hence the “Picco” sticker on them.
At that time, Picco bars did not yet have a separate oil inlet hole. It appeared later.
Lubrication was done using the same locating holes used for chain tensioning (as in the ubiquitous Poulan/Oregon A041 bar mounts).
So nothing wrong with those bars.
