walker saw 044 muffler mod.

Could someone tell me exactly what walker does when modifying a muffler on a 044? I have access to a machine shop and would preferr to do it myself if it is not to involved.

Doc- they just cut another hole on the opposite side of the muffler and braize in a short piece of tube to direct the exhaust away from the operator. An even lower buck fix is to cut a hole and then use a bolt-on deflector, like one from a Husky 268 muffler. You can buy the deflector cheap or salvage one off a junk muffler.
