Wanted: 045 Stihl parts

Need a few parts for an old 045.

-The hand guard that was attached with two screws to the top cover. NOT the pivoting style that is spring-loaded. I am told that the old 031 used the same guard.

-Magneto armature, flywheel, and fan for points ignition system. I believe the electronic ignition used a different flywheel, so that won't work.

I would also consider a parts saw with any of the stuff I need.

A 045, eh?

My advice would be to buy an entire 044 or 046 and replace all of the parts from your new saw onto the old saw.

That would be the only way to make it into a really nice saw.

I think what I am doing is known as a restoration, so buying an 044 would defeat my purpose. Thanks for the helpful advice.

I don't have any of those parts, I have a flywheel but its goes with a electronic ignition I believe.
