Looking for a Vermeer 502 Stumpgrinder that has a "blown" motor and/or "bad" cuttingwheel/drivetrain. We've got one that rolled, but from the motor to the cuttingwheel is still good(along with a few other things). What is mainly needed is the "sheet metal" and items for the retractable control panel. "Trying to improve a bad situation. CAUTION--Icy roads ahead + bad drivers all around.":bang:

Wanted the same thing when ours got nailed/rolled by an uninsured driver...vermeer is absolutely rediculous on what the charge for that stuff...ended up making our own fuel tank cover for about 1/6 the price vermeer wanted...$200 for a axle hub is more b.s....good luck to you!

I will have 2 up for sale here soon. Or will sell both as is.

One runs good, but has a vibration in the drivetrain. You can move the driveshaft quite a bit through the inspection window, so I'm assuming the upper bearing on the gear box is bad. It's been painted red (flaking off and rusty) and needs some other small work (lights wired, light box put back on, chip deflector, etc). The pivot pin will need replaced soon, but works/moves fine right now. It has a new river wheel.

The other one has been cannibalized for the other grinder and some parts are missing. Engine supposedly ran, but used oil. Gear box is off, radiator off, fuel pump, motor mounts, etc. Driveshaft is broken by U joint. It's in decent shape paint wise and center pin is tight. Good project unit.

Would like to sell both together as a package. I will be taking apart the gearbox on the running one soon to see exactly what the problem is.
