Wash chain after sharpening?

Juniata County hills of central Pennsylvania.
I read somewhere that chains should be brushed in Kerosene or equivalent after sharpening to remove abrasive particles of steel and grinding wheels, which may find their way in places where they are not wanted.

I'm curious- does anyone actually do this on the job?

Not wery critical. If chain is strongly contaminated with filings, run it at full throtle not cutting, for a little time. Heavier and more critical for the cutters filings will fly out.
