What would be the best, most economical way to ship a small stump grinder
(252) from South Carolina to Oregon? Never done it before so would appreciate any recommendations of companies.

Thanks!

I would try a third party logistic company...Unishippers, freightquote, meridian come to mind...As long as you can palletize it and have equipment to load, it should not be a problem...PM me if you need more help...

if it can be palletized, you can easily ship it LTL. You will need to drain the fuel from it first, engine/hydraulic oil is not usually a problem though. Check with old domminion, southeastern freightlines, RL, fed ex freight, ect. To get an accurate quote you will just need the weight, size, and know if you can or cannot stack anything on top of it.

Check with local shipping companies in larger cities around you. I found a shipper about 200 miles away from me who ships/receives all over the US and has delivered chippers for me before. Bigger chippers have averaged about $1.00 per mile one-way so a little 252 grinder should be less than that - maybe half that I would think.
