Weekend report 9/23-24

[Four Paws]

Well, what did you guys get done? Cut any wood, work on your saws, or do anything else that was productive?

Finished clearing the brush from the creek on my property yesterday - willows are like weeds! Damn things took over, but were no match for the brushcutter and chainsaw. 3 long days of cutting and hauling, and 4 HUGE brush piles to show for it! Will make some good bonfires in the spring!

Today I built a wood bench-top for an old Craftsman toolbox and side cab I had. Turned out pretty nice - and now I have a new mobile workbench/toolbox just for saws.

Got an old 041 Farm Boss running, got a Jari sickle bar mower going, and got parts together for my 039. Also wire feed welded up an aluminum dirt bike clutch lever (from a '77 Honda XL175 enduro).

Kicked butt in an ATV sled pull and BBQ'd a ton of stuff. Nothing with the saws this weekend.

I rebuilt the roof that burned off my shed and got some logs from a buddy, also sold two night stands and built a coffee table. Not much sawing!!

well, now that you asked, went with my wife to the chevy dealer, she bought a new C6 coupe. Victory red, paddle shift.

Football game friday night, soccer game on saturday, 48 wheelbarrow loads of mulch today along with 28 full of rocks and I am beat.

Welded 2 motorcycle frames for the neighborhood kids..

Moved a bunch of crap for my brother..

Split (3) truckloads of oak..

Cooked 2 gallons of chili...

Ummmmhhhhh... It kinda stopped after that....

Spent some well needed quality time with the girl friend.

At least now, I am on top of the dog house instead of living inside of it....

No sawing for me lately. Been gone for the last month.

no, it wasn't about getting a little. She is sick of my crap. I need to "change" my ways back to the way I used to be before I got an attitude with her.....

Trying to get back into a normal sleep schedule so I am in a better mood. This 4 hour sleep thing isn't cutting it. It is making me a meaner person.

I learned while in PA with no internet, that there is much more to life than the internet....

Of coarse, she wouldn't have been as made if I wouldn't have blown my plans with her off before I left.

I can honstly say that I don't blame her at all....I would have been gone long ago......

My dad and I put one of the last of teh blowdowns from Hurricane Frances on the gorund. I needed a helping hand. i generally refuse to work blowdowns alone, plus there ahve a been a lot of cottonmouths in the area. I needed a spotter. Couldn't have done it w/o him. It was about a 25"DBH Golden chestnut oak. GOOD firewood. And I gave all three of my Stihls a workout.
